Erik Vibes, an Atlanta RnB singer, recently put out his new single, G.F.R.M (get from round me). I designed the single cover, pictured below. This brand package also included several other assets; first was the single cover, then an Instagram advertisement (which was run as a promoted post on Instagram), and then 3 t-shirt designs. Erik Vibes believes in targeting younger generations as a marketing tool, so I intentionally referenced the illustration style of the popular animated series "Steven Universe" in my design. Instagram targeted ad
Erik wanted the ad to be animated, so that's what he got. This is the preliminary version of the ad; we also plan to run a version that features Erik singing the two lines before the chorus a capella, filmed in a snapchat story style. This will lead directly into the ad. We want to try this because Instagram users, if they detect a higher production value, will immediately determine the post to be an ad and automatically skip over it. I hope that including a snapchat story style video before the actual ad will lure them in.
